Having donned our shirts, Amy and I ventured to Hollywood. We got there a little late — in part because I actually stopped to listen to one of the guys selling mix tapes outside Hollywood and Highland — and ended up toward the back of the line that had already started forming at 4:50.
No matter though, as we struck up a conversation with one of the ticket-checker people. She didn’t really watch the O.C., but we totally bonded over talking about how much of a tool Jason was, and how Jessica could do so much better. After waiting in the lobby area (next to an insanely tantalizing bar area that had all sorts of booze for no apparent reason) we finally were herded into the studio. As we entered, the same ticket-checker girl noticed us and sent us to a specific taped-off couple of seats.
In the front row. Score.
As you’ll see in the video, she had designs for us. Or, more aptly, my shirt.
All in all it was a fun experience, although, in reality, Kristin seemed completely awkward and by no means ready for celebrity-dom. She totally bolted out after the taping, and didn’t really take the time to chat with anyone. Although, in fairness, she did sheepishly acknowledge my shirt during a commercial (I’m sure if her father wasn’t in the audience she totally would have been all over me.) She also shared a handshake with the guy sitting next to me, after the taping finished, at which point she again gave me what I can only describe as a “dude, you’re scaring me” look.
So I guess it wasn’t quite the love connection I was hoping. But at least I got a really cool t-shirt out of it. At any rate, on to the video:

That was great! She seemed totally weirded out by the shirt… Iif she only knew what people were doing with her rolling stone spread…
