Not to get all Ice Cube on everyone, but today was a good day. An no, the fact that none of my assault rifles were discharged had nothing to do with it. I ventured to USC in order to pick up this…

…and ended up with this as well:

The former is my diploma for my Masters Degree in Computer Science. Now, I guess it should be exciting to get and all, but it doesn’t really mean much to me. Honestly, I just think it’s cool that USC has paid me roughly $40,000 for the priveledge of getting it, which isn’t so bad considering it costs the average MS student around $65,000 for one. But it’s sorta the “booby prize”, in my opinion. I guess it’ll come in handy if I have some wall space that needs filling (or, you know, get kicked out of the Ph.D program for stealing footballs).

The latter is an “official” USC practice football. I guess the kicker (or, perhaps, punter) is too strong for his own good, cuz he kicked that out of the practice field. My friend Abe and I were walking to the Lyon center to play some racquetball and there it was. A girl timidly tapped it over to me and I ran and stashed it in my office before the little ball shagger could get it back. It’s a pretty cool football, if I do say so myself.

Leaving the Lyon center, I’m like 99% sure Matt Leinart walked right past me. He was tall, shaggy, and had some inordinately hot blonde chick with him. Practice had just let out, so I’m really guessing it was him. He also was speaking the sorta laid-back drawl he’s known for. At any rate, my scouting report on him is as follows: He’s tall (although by no means 6′5″. He’s at best my height. I guess if you measured him in cleats he’d be 6′5″, but not otherwise). He’s shaggy. His girlfriend (assuming that’s who it was) is really hot. That’s about it.

To top it off, I won my weekly poker tournament. So all in all it really was a good day.

Now if only momma had cooked the breakfast with no hog.
